The book “Conversations with Seth” by Jane Roberts inspired Claus Bockstandt to the musical project “Lumania”. This exciting book tells of a highly developed civilization that is said to have lived on earth a very long time ago. The Lumanians had managed to influence matter through tones in such a way that it could be shaped and moved acoustically. They used the tones, which could not be heard by physical ears, among other things, to build their buildings and to move their vehicles with them.
We will probably never know whether such a civilization really existed and what ingenious technical achievements existed at that time. Regardless of this, however, such a thought is very exciting. Wouldn’t it be great if, in the near or distant future, we could control the use of frequencies in such a way that they enable us to perform similar outstanding “miracles”?
Perhaps we will also discover the fantastic possibilities of sound someday. What we already know about audible sounds is that we can be very moved (touched) by them “in another way”. Let them take you to another world and listen to the melodies from Lumania.
The album was produced by Guido Negraszus in Sydney in 1994. During most of their collaboration there was a lively exchange of data and information between Australia and Germany. In addition, Guido Negraszus and Claus Bockstandt met for a few days in the studio in Sydney.
In contrast to his first album “Voyages”, the instrumental songs for “Lumania”, composed and played by Claus Bockstandt with synthesizers, were complemented by several well-known musicians, including: Guido Negraszus (Percussion & Sequencer Programming), Mark Kennedy (Drums), Paul Panichi (Trumpet, Horn), Bob Coassan (Trumpet), Harry Brus (Bass), John Robinson (Guitar), Ross East (Guitar), Graham Jesse (Sax), Sally Schinckel-Brown (Cello).
